Download iCal FileCongratulations! All your hard work in college has paid off, and you’re about to graduate! So, I’m delighted to invite you to participate in the 24th annual Honors College Convocation for graduating students. This special ceremony, only for Honors College students, will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the UIC Dorin Forum, located at Halsted and Roosevelt Roads.
At Convocation, you will receive a gold Honors stole. This stole is a visible symbol of your accomplishment, and you can proudly wear it at all other college commencement ceremonies. In addition, during the ceremony, you will be recognized for the awards and honors you’ve received at UIC. As you can see, the Honors Convocation is a wonderful celebration of all your accomplishments – you deserve this recognition, and your family deserves to share in that recognition, so come!
Please complete the following steps to confirm your space in the Honors College Class of 2023:
1. Complete Honors College Graduation Declaration: Please help us prepare for celebrate your accomplishments at the ceremony by completing the Graduation Declaration online by April 1. The form is available on our website. On the form, you’re asked for information about your accomplishments and future plans – don’t be shy! Give us as much detailed information as possible. This gives us the opportunity to recognize your achivements during the ceremony and to brag to the rest of the world about our outstanding Honors College students.
2. Order Cap and Gown: The ceremony will require formal academic dress, so you need to purchase your cap and gown before May 3. You can pre-order your regalia through the Jostens website until March 17. Orders will be shipped to your home within five weeks. If you miss this deadline, a limited stock of caps and gowns will be available for purchase in the Campus Bookstore beginning March 20.
3. Register for the Ceremony through Marching Order: During the week of March 13, you will receive a registration email with a unique link to reserve your place at the ceremony. Tickets are not required for this event, so you are encouraged to invite as many friends and family as you like. Please also invite your Honors College Fellow to celebrate this occasion with you and your family. Remind your Fellow that they should contact the Honors College directly to order academic robes.
