Curious about doing research while studying abroad?
The session will begin with Professor Barbara Risman presenting on their UIC Faculty Directed Program, Families as They Really Are: Dutch/American Comparison, which will will run from May 17, 2026 – June 9, 2026, As part of the program, the students will have a unique opportunity to attend the "10th Edition: Global Congress on Gender & Sexuality Studies 2026" on May 18th and 19th. Program leader, Professor Risman was invited to be a keynote speaker at the conference. An excellent example of where research can take you.
Then representatives from EuroScholars will come to present their program options in Europe and South America. They will be available to chat with students about the application process. Light refreshments will be provided.
Honors College students may apply to conduct research abroad through EuroScholars, a consortium of five major universities in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, that enables 3rd- and 4th-year students to join existing research projects for a semester or full academic year while earning up to fifteen credit hours per semester. Projects are available in disciplines ranging from humanities and social sciences to biological sciences, engineering, and more. Foreign language skills are not necessary.
