Written by legendary playwright, Tennessee Williams, and directed by Jeff Award-winning UIC Theatre Faculty Member & Honors College Fellow, Derrick Sanders; A Streetcar Named Desire is a classic piece of American drama that has left an indelible mark on the world of modern storytelling.
Following Blanche DuBois after the death of her husband and loss of her family home in Mississippi, she travels alone and lonely to make a new life with her sister in the New Orleans French Quarter. Longing and lying for a future that is bearable, Blanche’s desire is ultimately no match for her brother-in-law’s crushing demand for the truth. Featuring performances from Honors College students Elijah Newman (Stanley), Emma Linder (Stella), and Karla Corona (Ensemble) this production is one not to be missed!
Come out and support your fellow Honors students as they embody a classic in the pantheon of American drama.
