Honors Student collaborated with UIC student online platform, Akknoledge, to connect students with study groups

Via UIC Today:
Akknoledge, a free online platform was developed by UIC students (Albert Huynh and Michael Charles) to help students find study groups based on courses, professors, locations and dates.
They enlisted Fawwaz Abayomi and Honors College student Shpetim Useini to expand their team. Launched in September, Akknoledge now serves 750 students at UIC. Shpetim Useini, a third-year biology student from Rockford, joined them as outreach director for study groups on health sciences, chemistry and biology, which make up a large segment of Akknoledge’s users.
The platform aims to enhance academic experiences and knowledge retention by fostering a learning community. Surveys show that 60% of students felt their learning improved through group study, and 70% said study groups helped them stay motivated. The platform is promoted through various campus units and is available through the UIC library page on reserving a study room.
