Honors Students in Fall 2018 UIC Theatre Productions
Five Honors College students will have roles in the UIC Theatre productions Electricidad and Three Sisters this Fall 2018 semester!
Featuring the work of Shaina Toledo as Clemencia, Karla Corona as La Connie, and Rose Mozier as Understudy for the titular role of Electricidad, Electricidad opens on September 28 and runs until October 6, 2018. Electricidad is not your typical chola. She was raised by the hood and honors the history of loyalty and violence from las calles of East Los Angeles. She will not rest until her mother pays for murdering her papá, el rey. Interested in attending the production? Afterwards, be sure to check out the work of Elijah Newman as Andrey and Zoe Srebnick as Masha in Three Sisters--premiering November 9 and running until November 17, 2018. With dark humor, Three Sisters captures the uninspired rural lives of Olga, Masha, and Irina. Their longing for a past long gone and an imagined future home in Moscow is a desperate reach toward a life of purpose and meaning.
