About

Cristian Baeza serves as an Honors Academic Advisor and Program Specialist in the areas of Orientation and PAP Honors Scholars Program. Furthermore, Cristian graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Learning in 2019. As a first-generation undergraduate student, he always sought to get the most out of his time in college. He was quite active in both Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. and the LARES Program. He also co-founded the Latinx Heritage Month in 2017, spent the summer of 2018 studying abroad in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and participated in the Urban Public Policy Fellowship (UPPF) Program during his senior year. Following his graduation from UIC, Baeza continued his education by enrolling in Northern Illinois University (Go Huskies!) to earn his master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs.

Moreover, before joining the Honors College in January 2023, Cristian worked as an Academic Advisor of Musical Theatre and Comedy students at Columbia College Chicago. Baeza is very happy to be back home at UIC and looks forward to guiding all his students towards their academic, professional, and personal goals. In his free time, Cristian enjoys listening to Omar Apollo and Carla Morrison, checking out coffee shops, indulging in arts and crafts, and dancing bachata!

During his undergrad, Cristian completed the following honors activities: internships, research, service, and study abroad
