About

Rachel Karaskiewicz is a Visiting Lecturer in the Honors College, where she is responsible for redesigning HON 301 Foundations for the Future. A native of Chicagoland, Rachel has worked in higher education for more than 15 years, first as a First-Year Composition instructor at Purdue University Calumet and then as Coordinator of The Center for Academic Writing at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Rachel earned both her BA and MA in English at Northern Illinois University, and most recently completed six years of doctoral work in Learning Sciences at the Learning Sciences Research Institute at UIC, focusing on disciplinary literacy and science writing at the post-secondary levels. Rachel has taught HON 301 for three years now and says it’s her favorite class to teach! When she’s not at the Honors College, Rachel can be found watching the 2022 Libertarian National Committee Business Meeting recordings on Youtube with her husband and her two Dobermans.
